This is for solo attorneys, small firms and nonprofits looking for immigration software that costs nothing. The honest answer, from each vendor's own website on October 16, 2026: none of the full forms-and-case suites we read is free. They offer trials of 7 to 14 days, two publish nonprofit discounts, and the free tools that do exist each cover one part of the work.
The free trials we found
Docketwise and LollyLaw offer 7 days, MyCase 10, and CampLegal, eImmigration and CaseTracker 14. INSZoom and LawLogix offer a demo on request.
Trials, from each vendor's page
| Product | Free trial | What the page adds |
|---|---|---|
| Docketwise | 7 days | "no setup fees for standard accounts" |
| LollyLaw | 7 days | "No Credit Card Needed" |
| MyCase | 10 days | "No credit card required." |
| CampLegal | 14 days | "Enjoy 14 Days of Full Access" |
| eImmigration | 14 days | Requested after a demo |
| CaseTracker | 14 days | "No credit card required"; USCIS status only |
| Clio | Offered | Length not stated on its pricing page as archived in October 2026 |
| INSZoom, LawLogix | Demo on request | No price published |
A trial is for testing, so test the hard part. For a PERM practice that means entering one real case with its recruitment dates and checking what the product does with them.
Nonprofit pricing
Two vendors publish a nonprofit price on their own pages:
| Vendor | What its own page says |
|---|---|
| eImmigration | "Non-profit organizations receive 50% off the standard monthly rate when committing to an annual term. Schools and universities also qualify for this discount." |
| Docketwise | "Non-profit organizations benefit from an additional 18.5% discount on our annual plan," for 501(c)(3) organizations (help center article dated September 15, 2026) |
We found no nonprofit price on the pricing, trial or FAQ pages of LollyLaw, CampLegal or MyCase, or on Mitratech's current INSZoom page. If you're a legal aid organization, ask each vendor directly; an unpublished discount can still exist.
What's free, permanently
The agencies' own status lookups
DOL's case status search answers a DOL case number, and USCIS's Case Status Online takes the 13-character receipt number. Both are free and need no account.
PERM Tracker's case lookup and calculators
The case lookup reads DOL's status for any PERM, wage request, LCA, H-2A, H-2B or CW-1 number, with an estimated decision date and an email when DOL moves the case. The calculators work out PERM deadlines, prevailing wage validity and RFI due dates. No account needed.
PERM Tracker's app, for a PERM caseload
Free, and PERM-only. Enter each case's dates once and it works out the recruitment deadlines, the filing window and the I-140 deadline, with reminders, Google Calendar sync and CSV or JSON export. Details on For attorneys.
A spreadsheet
Free, and fine for a handful of cases, but every date and every deadline is typed and checked by hand. Manual vs automated tracking sets out where that breaks.
What PERM Tracker's free app doesn't do
It's built for one thing. It doesn't fill USCIS or DOL forms, bill clients or keep a trust account, file with USCIS, or run a client portal. A firm that does family, humanitarian or nonimmigrant work beyond PERM will still want a forms suite, and the app can sit beside one. For what the paid suites cost, see the 2026 pricing table.
The costs that come with "free"
- Your data at the end. Before a trial ends, check what an export contains. If it's partial, re-entering the cases is the real cost.
- Migration. Moving cases in later isn't always free: eImmigration lists $1,000 for a standard import, and Docketwise's pricing page lists free migration on its annual Advanced plan.
- Security. Free or paid, the same questions apply to anyone holding clients' files. See what to ask a vendor about your clients' data.
Prices and trial terms change. Every figure here is dated October 16, 2026, and the vendor's own page is the authority if it differs today.
