This is for attorneys, paralegals and firm owners who file PERM cases and are weighing Docketwise against the alternatives. The useful question is which one keeps the PERM clocks. Few of the forms suites we read say much about that, which is why a firm might pair a forms tool with something that does.
How this was read
Every price and feature below comes from the vendor's own website, read on October 16, 2026 (Clio's pricing page blocks automated reading, so it's quoted as archived on October 5, 2026). "Not published" means the vendor's site shows no price. Vendors change both often, so check the page before you buy.
What Docketwise's own pages list
Docketwise sells three plans per user a month: Basic $80, Pro $100 and Advanced $120 billed yearly, or $90, $120 and $140 billed monthly. Its pricing page lists Smart Forms, case management, "Case & Priority Date Tracking", a client portal, and on Pro, e-filing, e-signatures and a Human Resources Portal. Its case tracking page describes automatic USCIS updates by receipt number and visa bulletin alerts for priority dates. Its company fact page names a form library of "USCIS, EOIR, DOL, DOS forms" and general "deadline tracking", with 8am as the parent company.
What those pages don't name are the PERM-specific dates: the prevailing wage determination's expiration date, the recruitment steps and their timing, the ETA-9089 filing window, the audit file and the I-140 deadline after certification. That's the PERM side, and it's what the rest of this post is about.
The PERM clocks any tool should keep
| Clock | The rule |
|---|---|
| The filing window | At least 30 days after the last mandatory recruitment step and within 180 days of the first (20 C.F.R. § 656.17(e) (2025)) |
| Additional recruitment steps | Only one may fall entirely within 30 days of filing; none more than 180 days before (§ 656.17(e)(1)(ii)) |
| Notice of filing | Posted at least 10 consecutive business days, 30 to 180 days before filing (§ 656.10(d)) |
| The prevailing wage determination | DOL sets a validity period of 90 days to 1 year from the determination date (§ 656.40(c)); the tool should hold the expiration date |
| The I-140 | Within 180 days of certification (§ 656.30(b)(1)); DOL prints the expiration as certification plus 179 days |
| Records | The application and supporting documents kept 5 years from filing (§ 656.10(f)) |

CampLegal's employment immigration page is the only forms suite page we read that names PERM recruitment and the audit file directly. We haven't tested any of these products; the column is what each vendor says, in its own words where quoted.
Three ways firms set this up
Keep Docketwise and add a PERM tracker
Forms, intake and the client portal don't move. The PERM dates go into a tool built for them. PERM Tracker is free for this, and it doesn't fill forms, bill clients or file with USCIS, so it sits beside a forms tool.
Move to a suite that names PERM
If one system matters more than depth, read the vendor's PERM pages closely and ask for a demo built on one of your own recent cases, with its real dates.
Move everything to another forms suite
eImmigration lists Docketwise among the platforms it imports from, for a $1,000 standard import. CampLegal says full-service implementation and data migration are included. Ask any vendor what comes across and what doesn't.
Questions to put to any vendor
- Does it compute the filing window from the first and last recruitment dates, or only store the dates you type?
- Does it warn when an additional recruitment step would fall inside the last 30 days?
- Does it keep the audit file together for 5 years, and can you export it?
- Does it date the I-140 deadline from the certification date, and remind you before it?
- Can you get every case out, with its dates, if you leave?
Where PERM Tracker fits, and where it doesn't
PERM Tracker's app is free and PERM-only. Enter a case's dates once and it works out the recruitment deadlines, the filing window and the I-140 deadline, with reminders, Google Calendar sync, JSON import, and CSV or JSON export. It isn't a forms tool, a billing tool or a USCIS portal, and it doesn't replace Docketwise for any of that. See For attorneys, or try the dates on one case with the deadline calculator first.
Nothing here is legal advice.
